Foreign investment in the Greek property market recorded a historic high for a year in 2024, as well as for a single quarter in the October-December period, data from the Bank of Greece have shown.
According to the figures released by the central bank, capital inflows from abroad came to 2.75 billion euros, an amount that is 30% higher than in 2023 (€2.1 billion), illustrating the momentum that the domestic realty market has developed.
In fact, the fourth quarter surpassed any previous one, with total inflows of €824.5 million, 68% higher than the corresponding period in 2023, when there had also been a two-month abstention by notaries.
Greece is an attractive location for property investment due to its affordability, strong tourism industry, and the potential for capital appreciation and rental income. The country’s beautiful landscapes, favourable climate, and increasing economic stability further enhance its appeal.
